Heroin

Heroin skateboards was founded in 1998 and is the brainchild of Mark ‘Fos’ Foster. Before his career took him to LA where he now resides, Fos grew up in Rawtenstall near Blackburn.

Fos studied design at Goldsmiths University and then lived in New Cross becoming heavily involved in London’s skateboarding scene. During a hospital stay to repair a broken wrist in 1998 he decided to start a skateboard company of his own. He drew the original Heroin Skateboards label with his left hand from his hospital bed.

The name Heroin came into being because Fos was, and still is, ‘straight-edge’ with skateboarding being his only addiction.

Today Heroin is one of the biggest skate companies out there with Fos’s signature artwork being instantly recognisable.

Heroin boasts an impressive team of skaters including Chet Childress, Daniel Shimizu, Chopper, Craig Questions Scott, Deer Man of Dark Woods, Tony Karr, Lee Yankou and Tom Day. See more from the team over on their Instagram page.
